Hello Sunday!
This special edition of Makeup University – on a Sunday, not a Monday is to give a shout out of encouragement to Katy Perry – you go girl! You got this!

I’m not watching the VMA’s tonight because I find that it is all on Twitter and Youtube anyhow that I can save some time by not watching live.

Oh, that and my new found hobby of reading and watching Game of Thrones. It took me a long time to get into this and now that I am, I love it!  I think I like it because it has a bit of Camelot and a touch of Lord of the Rings to it?

So while I enjoy that, you enjoy this video I made for last year’s MTV Video Music Awards!

Nope, Hollywood hasn’t found the fountain of youth. Stars just have amazing tricks to stay (looking) forever young

Celebrities Reveal Their Secrets to Looking Younger

This is a TotalBeauty.com anti-aging skin care article

It’s not just genetics that affect our skin. Our lifestyle choices, nutrition, and skin care also play a huge role in how we age. Take these celebrity examples: Kathie Lee Gifford and Christie Brinkley. They’re both 58 but Brinkley looks decades younger. How? A few of these expert tips will help you steal her secrets.

Hello Gorgeous!
OH wow! The I Heart Radio festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was live streamed over Yahoo-or a Xbox 360 for those of us who were unable to make it in person.

In the words of Taylor Swift ” I’m definitely going next year”!

So here is a short video to share the Rimmel of London haul-that I have used to create a P!NK inspired smokey eye and nude lip like what she wore in her set on Saturday.

I did not go into detail in the video about how to get a PINK’s mohawk if you have long hair like mine-but here’s the short version:
1. Section the top of your head into 3 parts from the forehead hairline to the crown. Tease tight, then smooth over with a brush.

2. I put my hair into a high ponytail-and kept the teased section smooth and tall.

3. Sprayed it all down with some Samy shine hairspray, set a bow at the back of the teased ‘faux’ hawk and fluffed out the base of the pony tail.

It’s a PINK like hairstyle!

Enjoy the video!

RIMMEL of London Products used:
Glam’eyes HD 004 Green Park or try 007 in Heart of Gold
Exaggerate waterproof eye definer in Emerald Sparkle
Volume Flash Scandal Eyes mascara
Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Creamy Beige
NEW Match Perfection blush in light/medium
Lips: Kate 15 for a PINK inspired nude shiny lip, use Kate 10 for a Taylor Swift red lip

Get RIMMEL at any Walmart or Walgreens and it’s always under $10!

The 2012 I Heart Radio festival in Las Vegas is amazing!
It opened with No Doubt and Gwen Stefani looked amazing! So beautiful and in shape. Makes me want to put this burger down…

Ok-this video is a short tutorial for her hair style. I love the (what I have coined as) duo sumo rolls with a top twist. The twist is what is so exciting because it’s not the trendy braid. My short bangs had a hard time twisting into a smooth shape.

Thank goodness for my Bosley Volumizing and Thickening gel!

I spritzed all hairs into place with Smooth n Shine Diamond Luster pump hairspray.

I used a Goody comb, a few bobby pins and some basic brown hair elastics to match my hair color.

 1. Smooth some gel into your hair and make a side part in line with the end of your eyebrow.

2. Comb the hair sideways and section two pieces off at the hairline where it meets the forhead and begin to twist. Pull sections of hair into the twist just like you would a french braid-but caution- do not go past the part line on the twist side. You need to have about a 1 inch section of hair above the ear to smooth back into a sumo roll.

3. Pin the twist and secure with hairspray. Next comb the sides back to begin a sumo roll, use the gel to smooth the hair above the ears as you comb the hair straight back. Secure in a pony tail holder and before you pull the hair through the holder for a pony tail, simply stop half way and create a roll.

 4. Fan the roll out. I had to pin my sumo roll up on the inside of the roll against my head because even with fanning out the roll, my thin hair wouldn’t stand up.

5. Finish the I Heart Radio No Doubt Gwen Stefani hairstyle look by pulling the bottom section of hair into the ponytail holder and pull it into a sumo roll.

Spray with hairspray and fan out the bottom sumo roll, smooth the tails and fan out for a spikey effect.

Love the look! Enjoy the video!

My favorite part was when Pink came on stage and sang I’m Just a Girl with Gwen Stefani. Too good!
