Hi ya Gorgeous!
TGIF!
Whoa. Okay. I can explain. No need for excuses. Though here it goes. In the beginning of 2017, I said I would only be posting on Monday due to my busy schedule with my feature film, Jael A Western Tale.  I am finished with the script, there are still a few roles to cast and then, the forever list of details that need to be managed and completed to get us to production!
You can learn more about it on it’s Facebook page here: http://facebook.com/jaelawesterntaleThis week, the focus is on the Influenster Vox Box from Lancome. Oh such sweet goodies!

I received these products for free as a gift to review and give my honest opinion. I can honestly say that I don’t really like the liquid form of the foundation but this stick is a dream! It’s a semi matte finish and dries down powdery without caking in face creases. Bonus! Then the concealer is thicker than my normal  brand but for those who need more coverage, I think you will enjoy the consistency, coverage and wear time! Which is long! I’m amazed by the click highlighter pen which when you click the button on the end it oozes out a bit of rose and gold shimmer liquid which more like a veil wash of color and highlight than an actual highlight powder or cream. I used it all over my face!  Finally, the lip gloss is light and can be work alone, over a lipstick or lip liner. It’s so versatile and perfect for your spring and summer looks! So like Lancome says, Don’t Glow It Alone!

Get yours at a Lancome counter near you or visit http://lancome.com

So part of my current over whelm is that while I am watching my feature film slowly … oh … so…slowly make it’s way to production, I did a documentary in the mean time. It was like taking a job on top of a job!

It’s completed and finishing up it’s distribution deal now, funny, how it’s easier to place a true story versus a fiction one!

This photo shows Purequosa. Otherwise known as  a stinky gal who swears she is not a germaphobes new best friend!

I received a sample from them to test and it came at the best time ever! I was en route from one NASCAR race in Las Vegas to another in Phoenix and it went from hot to hotter. This colloidal silver spray with essential oils is amazing! I used it on the surface of some places, in the air in others, on my skin and in my mouth for a freshening up!

It’s available on Amazon right now – and if you have kids, pets, relatives, a house, a car, armpits and yuck mouth – you need this! Your spring break will thank you!

Finally, my favorite segment, “What Are You Reading” this week!  I’m re-reading the #BeMore book by Sandi Krakowski.  I love it’s bite sized nuggets of inspiration and wisdom. Get yours on Amazon today! http://amzn.to/2nJjKeh

Hi ya Gorgeous,
Today we take a break from our normally scheduled beauty talk to focus on something near to my heart and important.

In the United States, today is Veteran’s Day and it’s our chance to honor and remember the men and women of the military who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country.

http://veteransday-2016.com/

It’s very important, when you see someone, usually an old guy, wearing a Vietnam Veteran hat, that you tell the person, “thank you for your service and welcome home”. These boys, when they returned from the war, were met with disdain due to the political climate at the time. It wasn’t fair and it wasn’t right though it happened.

I do this every chance I get and it’s always met with grace and gratitude.

Here’s some details from the Veteran’s Day website:

Veterans Day is the memorial for
honoring American soldiers who served and sacrificed their lives in all
the warfare from World War I (WWI). The original name was Armistice Day
which marked the end WWI on the 11th hour, 11th day and 11th month of
1918. An anonymous US soldier was laid to rest at the national cemetery
at Arlington. Similar events took place in Arc de Triomphe, France and
Westminster Abbey in England on the same day. Since 1954 it was renamed
as Veterans Day in The US, declaring it as a formal holiday.
Origin
World War I started on 28th of July in
1914 between the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and
Ottoman Empire) and the Allied Forces (Empire of Britain, Russia,
France, USA, Japan, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Belgium, Portugal,
Romania, Greece, Hejaz and Siam). This war took toll of 9 million
military personnel and 7 million civilian lives.
And now a lil beauty talk … Rosie the Riveter how to video

Pound the pavement with the right base. Begin your beauty regime with a primer that fills in fine lines and pores for a flawless finish! Give Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer a try. It helps to inhibit the destruction of collagen so you can look flawless for years to come at your corner office.

Sleepless night from nerves? Cover up those under-eye bags, puffiness, or any other perfections with Tarte’s Dark Circle Defense. The finely milled light refracting minerals actually brighten skin to help camouflage dark circles, puffiness, refness, fine lines and wrinkles. And there’s 56% reduction in eye puffiness after 4 weeks–but we know you’ll nail that interview the first go-round!

Sparkle and glitter aren’t office appropriate. Opt for a matte shadow in a natural hue on the lids. We love Revlon’s ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in In The Buff. Better yet, go for a thin line of smudged pencil eyeliner. Sue Devitt’s Eye Intensifier Pencil is great. Nylon and a number of other ingredients lock in moisture and expand and contract with facial movements without creasing to create a long-lasting, luminious eye.

Stop fussing with and reapplying your makeup! Ditch the trips to the ladies’ and mist on a product that holds concealer, foundation and eyeshadow in place for up to 16 hours. Skindinavia Makeup Finishes creates a flawless look so there’s less touch ups throughout the day. Since it resists heat and humidity, the mist is also great for when that mid-interview perspiration occurs!

OTHER TIPS:

•For your face, you probably won’t need much more than concealer and loose powder. If you have blemishes or uneven skin tone, by all means, use a foundation! But if you don’t need much coverage, just skip it.
•Wear lipstick, not lip gloss. Gloss is too shiny and youthful for a formal occasion like an interview.
•Well-groomed brows show that you pay attention to details. Tweeze any stray hairs, and if you have brow gel, use it to set your brows in place. (A tiny bit of hair gel, diluted with water, can do the same thing.)
•Applying a little bit of blush makes everyone look healthier. Use this rather than bronzer for a natural-looking, healthy glow.
•Don’t wear any perfume. “Oh, but I love my signature scent,” you might be saying. Yes, and it probably smells lovely, but what if your interviewer has an allergy? Skip it.
•Unless you have naturally clean, even, hangnail-free nails, get a manicure. It doesn’t matter whether your nails are long or short, but they should be neatly filed. Don’t opt for a French manicure — many find it dated.

Fix Your Hair Issues Now

Total Beauty readers spill their biggest hair woes — these expert tricks fix them all

Fix Your Hair Issues Now

Hello gorgeous! Are you getting ready for your bridal makeup and a wedding day beauty to remember? Or are you putting makeup on for a resume ready face that gets hired? How about are you a model getting your makeup on for your first photoshoot to make a comp card with?

All is good if you are I share these questions with you because I just tested the new Dermablend Smooth Indulgence line of foundation, concealer and long wear makeup remover.

Remember-most products work their best when in a system from their own line. I know some of you may like to mix and match your makeup brands, but in this case the Dermablend Smooth Indulgence system works syngergistically together!

Start with a clean face that is moisturized and ready for makeup. Get two synthetic brushes in different sizes: large and small! Use your small size to work the concealer with and your large brush to blend the large areas of the face.
The Dermablend foundation actually comes with a sponge inside-which is a nice addition though I prefer a brush because it’s cleaner and saves product in the long run.

Who needs the Smooth Indulgence line from Dermablend? Anyone with minor to moderate skin imperfections or who is experiencing symptoms of rosacea, redness, uneven skin tone, and minor acne scars. Also the Smooth Indulgence has spf 20 sunscreen protection, a natural looking coverage, is long-lasting in wear and provides an all day hydration. The box does say it’s suitable for sensitive skin-which I don’t really have but it feels so good on that I would believe that it
could be a product for those with sensitivities.

Now, in the phot oto the left I have applied concealer all over my eyes, and over my eyebrows to test the ‘bleached’ look that is current Fall 2010 beauty trend but that I can’t fathom doing! I am not bleaching my eyebrows!

In the photo you can see that I am applying a wee squirt of foundation to my brush and about to blend all over and down my neck. I do like the product but I noticed during application that it sets up fast so you either need to blend fast or apply to small areas of the face at a time! A little bit of product went a long way and I did two think coats to finish my face and blend into the concealer. In the photo I did not set the makeup with my favorite powder, the Makeup Forever HD translucent because I wanted you to see the full effect of the Dermablend Smooth Indulgence product.

It photographs nice I think! Also, look at the coverage! You can’t see one freckle! It did last all day, through alot of videos and photos, and wore very well into the evening. I did need to use the long wear makeup remover because my natural organic stuff couldn’t budge it! So I washed first with my normal wash and when it would move I tried the long wear remover on a scrublet and it began to melt away! A note that I love about the product is that they are using a natural sunscreen instead of a chemical based one-this product is loaded with Titanium dioxide 6.1%!

Now here you see me in the bridal veil. Why?

Because Sunday September 26th is the Arizona Bridal Affair and I will be there to emcee the show, and also have a booth full of goodies for you! Come pick my makeup brain, subscribe to the newsletter for beauty product giveaways and book your workshop or makeup lesson maybe even your wedding day! I went camping over the weekend and though I packed my facial cleansing cloths to remove my makeup as I roughed it out in the elements, I still got a pimple. Darn it!

So I have started to use it, and it has a light scent, not overpowering and didn’t sting when I applied. The best thing about this acne/pimple product is that it is using 5% salycilic acid to treat the blemish instead of the harsher benzoyl peroxide.

Either way-I expect this unwanted guest to be gone by morning! Enjoy the videos, and remember to subscribe to get your chance at product giveaways!

If you need to cover a tattoo for your destination wedding, for some beach weddings or just for a work opportunity ( Do you know how many celebrities have tattoos? Lots!) try a primer before you apply a concealing product.
What a primer does is prepare the skin to hold onto the concealing product better.

  • A waterproof version such as the Dermablend stick you see me holding is good for sweaty weather like Arizona or humid weather like Texas!

What you do is apply the primer to dry skin

  • I like to use a yellow color corrector over blue/dark inks to even out the cover up
  • Then use the concealing product of your choice, and Dermablend is a good choice!
Next use a foundation brush or sponge to blend and stipple over the coverage area.
  • I find that stippling, which is the process of pressing up and down on the skin with the sponge or brush -it presses the product into the skin.
  • You can go back over the area and feather blend the corners to make smooth.
  • I rarely cover my tattoos but if I have to, I have some good products to use.
  • Be sure and set the concealed area with translucent powder.

If you are really going to be sweating or around light fabrics I would set the powder with hair spray ( Aqua Net anyone?) or a professional product fixer you can get at any costume/theatre shop.

-Oh my goodness, on a side note-can you believe the offical last season of Oprah premiered? I love that she had her good friend John Travolta on to launch it.

Next up Wynnona, betrayal, a return to West Virginaia and something that hasn’t been announced yet. Wow, times are a changin’!
